my mom requested me to go with her to meet her cousin whom she had not seen for many years… her cousin’s family owns a farm nearby and she knew that they were going there one weekend and that was when we also went there to visit… when we arrived, we were served with various sliced fruits that they grow in the farm… one fruit however stood out for me…
sliced dragon fruit…
when sliced its color was dark pink or magenta and it had sweet tangy taste… i finished every slice on the plate!… dragon fruit is not really popular, at least for me… i only had tasted it once before this, and i remember that i did not like it much… but i also remember that the color of my first dragon fruit was white, not magenta… so i guess that this is a different variety and i like this much much better!…
i had never seen a live dragon plant before and i was gladly surprised when our hosts showed us their dragon fruit plantation…
dragon fruit plantation…
on a closer look, this is how a full-grown dragon plant looks like…i guess this belongs to the family of cactus…
the dragon plant…
and since i am a flower-lover, of course, i could not resist to take this shot…
the dragon flower…
and finally, this is how it looked before it was sliced!… =)
the dragon fruit…
our visit was a success! my mom was able to meet her cousin and i too was able to meet new relatives… plus the fact that i was able to see a dragon fruit up close and personal… =)
