i am a sailboat
sailing on the sea of life
hopping from one island to another
without a compass as guide

sometimes i find myself
on the shores of a picturesque land
but most of the time i just keep on
battling the storms of life

strong winds and huge waves
threaten to topple me
but i just keep holding on
till they all pass away

i am standing firm
unafraid to face all storms
because in my heart, i know
that my anchor is strong

faith is my anchor
i believe that no matter what happens
i will survive
if i just hold on for a little while

The Truth About Knowing The Truth

In most cases, knowing the truth means getting proofs or experiencing firsthand facts before we can say for certain that what we know is the truth. However, in some cases, truth is relative. It varies depending on what one believes or what one wants to believe.

As for me, I believe that I do not need to experience something in order for me to know the truth about it. Example, I have never been to the States and I have never experienced Winter. But I know for a fact that Winter is cold. In the same way that I have never experienced drinking poison. But I know that when I do, it can kill me.

In life, knowing the truth is also an art. An art because there are so many ways to get it, but not really experiencing it. We can get it from reliable sources, such as a trusted person, like a teacher who teaches lessons to his students. The students do not need to experience everything that their teacher teach them, yet they can definitely learn lots of truths from him. Another source is a book or records about facts. We do not need to experience everything that are written there, but we can learn truths from them.

Sometimes, knowing  the truth for certain does not necessarily require tangible evidence nor firsthand experience. Sometimes, all we need is to believe… and that is FAITH…
